About me
Tara Francis Chan is the managing editor and operations director for The Appeal, where she helped lead its relaunch as a worker-led nonprofit newsroom. She was previously an editor at Newsweek and was a launch editor for Business Insider's international news team. Tara is passionate about innovative leadership and centering care for journalists. She was previously a finalist for Young Australian Journalist of the Year and was a 2022 Poynter Leadership Academy for Women in Media cohort member. She graduated with a bachelor’s in communications and a diploma in innovation management from the University of New South Wales.
