About me
Simon Galperin is the executive editor of The Jersey Bee and CEO of Community Info Coop. At The Jersey Bee, he leads the development of a public service local news model that addresses info needs, increases civic participation, and improves the quality of life in the Newark, NJ, region. Through Community Info Coop, Simon advocates for community-centered media policy and increased representation of BIPOC and working-class people in journalism. He was a 2022 John S. Knight Journalism Fellow and a 2019 Reynolds Journalism Institute Fellow.
