About me
Morgan Malone is the Executive Director of City Bureau, a national journalism lab reimagining local media as a direct service to democracy based in Chicago. Morgan comes to City Bureau with over a decade of experience in economic and community development and civic participation. Prior to joining City Bureau, Morgan was the project executive overseeing the redevelopment of the former Michael Reese Hospital site, Bronzeville Lakefront, an $8.5B, 80+ acre development on the Southside of Chicago. Morgan’s work has been featured and profiled in Forbes, the New York Times, and the Chicago Tribune, to name a few. In 2020, Morgan was named a Crain’s Chicago Business “20 in their 20s” honoree and in 2022, an Ariel Investments and WVON 40 Under 40 Gamechanger.
