About me
Makeda Easter is a journalist and movement artist based in Chicago. The overarching goal of her work is amplifying underrepresented voices and communities. She launched the art rebellion, a platform centering activist art, to create work outside the bounds of mainstream media. Her journalism has been recognized by the Online News Association, the L.A. Press Club, and the Society for Features Journalism. She was recently a Knight-Wallace fellow and a visiting fellow at the University of Michigan's Center for Racial Justice.
