About me
Irene Fischler McKisson is the co-founder and principal executive of Arizona Luminaria, a two-year-old nonprofit news organization dedicated to local news and community-centered journalism. Prior to this, she spent 18 years at the Arizona Daily Star, where she ran audience development and was the co-founder and editor of This Is Tucson. She teaches editing in the UA School of Journalism and social media in the UA School of Information. McKisson is a lifelong Tucsonan and is raising two second-generation Tucsonans in a 102-year-old haunted house.
